A student may add or drop classes, or withdraw from the studio at any time. An online withdrawal form must be submitted to BOSS 14 days prior to the next month to avoid future tuition charges. There are no partial refunds for year/semester payments or costume/showcase fees.
BOSS reserves the right to reschedule or combine classes, or provide a substitute as needed.
BOSS reserves the right to cancel classes not able to be conducted for any reason including, but not limited to weather, teacher absence, or government advisory. In the event of an unforeseen class interruption, every effort will be made to makeup the class if and when possible.
At BOSS, we believe in promoting discipline consistency through the arts. Our mandatory dress code is an extension of this philosophy and will be strictly enforced 2-3 weeks after a student enrolls.

In order to comply with class dress code requirements, all female tumbling students in need of a BOSS leotard will be charged a $35.00 fee at registration. Students will be fitted in class for leotards and should wear tumbling leotards or similar until their order is received.
As the nature of group classes/camps require both individual practice and collaboration, regular class attendance is vital for student and group success. Families should make every effort to have students attend each class.
Planned absences should be communicated to the studio prior to class whenever possible. Any missed classes can be made up by attending a similar class through March 15 during the studio season.
Students who miss more than 2 classes in the 8 classes preceding Showcase may be deemed ineligible to participate in at the studio’s discretion. If a teacher’s schedule permits, students may make up missed classes by booking a private lesson with their instructor. Showcase and costume fees are non-refundable.
BOSS offers several forms of communication to keep families informed.
* Monthly notifications via email, Facebook, and our website
* Studio Policies and Procedures distributed at registration
* A Showcase Handbook for everything Showcase related distributed prior to showcase
* Parent/Teacher conferences upon request
* Front Desk staff to answer questions.

A TECHNIQUE or TUMBLE/ACRO class is required for all students to enroll in additional dance/add-on classes (ages 5 and up) as our primary concern is quality training.
Tumble classes meet this requirement with our highly structured, progressive, and internationally accredited tumble/acro curriculum.
Classes that meet the requirement for BALLET/JAZZ TECHNIQUE or TUMBLE/ACRO are:
READY SET DANCE: Ballet/Tap or Jazz/Hip Hop/Tap (K-1st)
SHINE Ballet/Jazz/Tap I (2nd-3rd)
Ballet/Jazz II & Ballet/Jazz III
Jazz IV and V and Ballet Technique IV
Any Musical Theatre ON STAGE KIDS or ON STAGE class
Any SHINE Tumble-Acro or Tumble-Acro 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 6-7, 8/Pre-Professional
Classes that require co-enrollment in a TECHNIQUE/TUMBLE-ACRO class are:
Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre MINIS/SHINE I
NOTE: Musical Theatre ON STAGE classes no longer require technique as it is built into the 2 class per week curriculum
Classes with Specific Co-Enrollment Policies are as follows:
Jazz V must co-enroll in either Leaps, Turns, Jumps or Jazz VI Extension based on reccommendations
Performance Company must co-enroll in a Jazz class
Classes that do not require co-enrollment and can be taken independently:
Ballet/Jazz/Tap
Ballet/Jazz
Jazz, Ballet, Tumble
Musical Theatre ON STAGE KIDS/TEENS
BALLET or JAZZ TECHNIQUE currently taken outside of BOSS will be accepted as meeting this requirement. Proof of enrollment required.
While students may prefer non-traditional and/or modern classes, TECHNIQUE sets foundations for all genres, and thus are essential to any quality dance/movement education program.
Level Placement
Age guidelines are estimates. Placement is based on age, skill level, maturity, and overall readiness, and is always at the studio's discretion. Students typically remain in a level for more than one year, as advancement is based on growth rather than age alone.
Skills Cards
Many classes use skills cards to help students track progress throughout the season. While skills assessments may be considered for future placement, they are only one of several factors used when determining a student's level.
Students should arrive 5-10 minutes before class and be picked up no later than 5-10 minutes after class, with the reception area remaining quiet, and clean.
We ask parents to limit their time in the lobby as it is small and reserve the bench seating to students waiting for classes and private lessons.
There is no food or eating allowed in the dance studio.
BOSS is committed to maintaining a positive and supportive environment for all students, families, and staff. We ask that all communication remain respectful and constructive.
Concerns regarding policies, billing, staff, or fellow students should be directed to studio management to be resolved appropriately. Defamatory, harmful, or false statements about fellow students, staff, or the studio should not be posted on social media.
The studio reserves the right to dismiss any student or family whose behavior, communication, or actions are disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful to the studio community.
